Marleybones expands retail presence in the UK

UK-based fresh dog food company Marleybones has expanded its retail presence through a nationwide listing with Pets at Home. The partnership will make its complete Pantry Fresh meal range available in approximately 430 stores across the UK and through the retailer’s online platform. The rollout represents the company’s largest retail expansion to date and marks the first time a retailer has stocked the full Marleybones Pantry Fresh portfolio.

The launch includes nine stock-keeping units (SKUs), comprising individual 390 g meals in Chicken, Beef, Lamb, and Salmon recipes, 12-pack cases of selected recipes, and both 12-pack and four-pack Variety Packs. Before the expansion with Pets at Home, Marleybones products were primarily sold through its direct-to-consumer channel and selected retailers, including Waitrose, Ocado, Co-op, and Whole Foods Market.

Founded by Josephine Rode Bager and Mikala Alexandra Wilson Skov, Marleybones has focused on developing gently cooked, shelf-stable dog food that combines the nutritional characteristics of fresh meals with the convenience of pantry storage without any defrosting.

The company’s Pantry Fresh products are prepared with fresh ingredients, slow-cooked, and packed in recyclable packaging. It eliminates the need for freezing and avoids artificial preservatives. The range also contains vegetables, superfoods, and gut-friendly prebiotics designed to support canine nutrition.

The founders said the partnership aligns with Marleybones’ goal of making fresh feeding more accessible to a wider group of pet owners. They noted that demand has grown for products that balance nutritional quality with everyday convenience. They described the nationwide rollout as an important step in expanding access to the company’s Pantry Fresh offering.

Pets at Home also said the addition of Marleybones broadens its premium dog food portfolio as consumer interest in convenient, high-quality nutrition continues to grow. The retailer expects the partnership to provide customers with greater choice while supporting pet owners seeking fresh-feeding alternatives.

The retail expansion follows Marleybones’ recent growth strategy. In late 2025, the company secured a £2.5 million funding round to accelerate retail expansion and strengthen customer experience. The company has experienced more than 200% growth and an increased brand awareness since its previous investment.
