The ‘Santa Paws’ grotto opened on November 20, 2022, this year in Pamphill’s Nurturing by Nature store, and invites dog owners to bring along their pets to take some festive photos, all to raise money for charity.
‘Santa Paws’ grotto gives dog owners a way to involve their pets in the festive celebrations this Christmas. The grotto is open during normal shop hours (8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm Sundays) and requires no booking. It’s free to enter, with a suggested donation of UK£5 to support the Friends of Wessex Assisting Dogs charity.
The charity provides assisting dogs for vulnerable and disabled people in the Wessex region, as well as funding cancer bio detection dogs. Once the dogs are trained, they can assist in tasks such as getting washing out of the machine, collecting things, bringing the post, carrying milk bottles, crossing the road, and even putting cards in cashpoints! Nurturing by nature has a donation goal of UK£5000.
To accompany this festive opportunity, Nurturing by Nature is running a competition, for winners to be awarded a UK£50 voucher for use in Nurturing by Nature’s store or online store. For a chance of winning, pet parents will need to upload any photos taken from the grotto to their social media channels, and include the hashtag #pamphillsantasgrotto in the post. The competition will run until Christmas eve, with winners being announced between Christmas Day and New Years Day. The photos could also appear in their festive advent videos on social media.
Nurturing by Nature is the first raw pet food store to open in the UK, offering high quality raw dog and cat food, natural dog treats, toys, and accessories. The family owned business started in 1996, and opened their first store in 2006. The Pamphill store is one of three in the area, located at Abbott St, Pamphill, Wimborne, BH21 4ED.
