Phibro Animal Health Corporation has launched its new Sustainable Solutions Platform (SSP), a company-wide initiative designed to help animal protein, dairy and petfood producers reduce greenhouse gas emissions through science-based solutions that integrate into existing feed and production systems.
According to the World Benchmarking Alliance, 165 of the world’s 350 largest food and agriculture companies have disclosed Scope 3 climate commitments, many targeting 20–30% reductions in value-chain emissions by 2030.
Feed ingredients remain one of the largest contributors to Scope 3 emissions in animal protein and petfood supply chains. Phibro said its strategy focuses on introducing low-carbon alternative nutrient sources that can support decarbonisation efforts without disrupting existing production systems.
As part of the SSP launch, the company introduced Verratain Verified Sustainability Solutions, its first master brand dedicated to sustainable products aimed at lowering emissions across animal protein and petfood manufacturing. The initial product range is being launched through a partnership with VAXA Technologies and is based on low-carbon microalgae feed materials.
The first products under the Verratain brand are Verratain Spirulina and Verratain Omega Oil, both developed as low-carbon microalgae ingredients for use in animal nutrition and petfood applications. Phibro said the products can help reduce the carbon intensity of feed and pet food formulations while supporting animal health and sustainability targets.
Dani Bendheim, incoming Chief Executive Officer of Phibro Animal Health Corporation, said the Verratain range reflects increasing demand for scalable and credible sustainability solutions across the animal protein and petfood sectors. He added that the products complement the company’s existing nutrition and animal health portfolio while helping producers and manufacturers address evolving sustainability expectations.
Phibro expects initial sales of the Verratain range to begin within the coming months, providing early adopters with an opportunity to integrate low-carbon microalgae ingredients into petfood and feed production systems.
